Art Immersion supply list and introduction

Preparations for our upcoming Art Immersion on the 17th August.

From Colleen: Please honour the process of gathering your supplies by tuning in toĀ  what you prefer…not what anyone else wants... this is about YOU!

1 Canvas at least 20x20in or large piece of heavy duty water colour paper. (I prefer canvas butĀ  both will work). It's important to have room to let loose a bit, no small canvases please.

Ā

Acrylic paints. Choose colours you love!Ā

You will want to have turquoise and/or blue and green so we can make it.

My favourite colours to have on hand areĀ

White (a must have)Ā

Prussian blue,Ā Ā

Quinacridone Magenta,Ā Ā

turquoise,Ā Ā

raw umber,Ā Ā

burnt sienna,Ā Ā

yellow ochre,Ā Ā

orange.Ā Ā

Pthalo and viridian green.Ā Ā

I like some neon colours too, so pretty when mixed with White.Ā Ā

I rarely use Black.Ā

There are so many beautiful colours, and they can mix into so many other colours. I'm like a kid inĀ a candy store when it comes to paint, but you don’t have to get too many at once, and you don’tĀ have to get expensive paint, student grade is perfect. (There are some that aren’t good at all, likeĀ the ones from Kmart in Australia, they have no pigment) Maybe just buy one of those packs withĀ Ā like 2 tubes(not the tiny tubes though)Ā

Paint BrushesĀ Ā

I'm very hard on my brushes, so I don’t get expensive ones. I buy the ones in the bulk pack, andĀ  then a few finer ones for detail. Best to have some soft and some stiffer.Ā Ā

Get a few different sizes even a bigger brush for house painting can be fun. you don’t need thatĀ  many to start.Ā Ā

I also use sponge brushes which you can get at craft stores.Ā

ExtrasĀ Ā

Mark making tools, like an old credit card, screen/mesh, bottle tops, cardboard with ridges Any stencils you might have. Paint pen if you want to add words or marks.Ā Ā

Rags, Water container, Spray bottle with water, Apron or painting clothes and a Hair dryer forĀ  drying if you need it. I probably will be using one.

Ho’oponopono Prayer

Ho’oponopono Prayer Prayer for Forgiveness, Healing, reconciliation and karmic cleansing.

The Ho’oponopono prayer is another way to take accountability for your past, present and future relationships -- with others, with the earth, with yourself. When I have interactions with others, I aim to call in the highest alignment of all involved. That is to say, alongside me stepping into my higher self, calling on my team, ascended masters and all beings of the light and ā€˜I am’ presence, I call forth their higher self so it is in this alignment we connect, communicate and consolidate.

The Ho’oponopono prayer is one way I often ā€˜work behind the scenes to both hold another in their highest potential and continue to realign any mis used energies within the relationship from m y behalf.

Ho’oponopono is an ancient Hawaiian practice for forgiveness and reconciliation. It’s more than the prayer alone;Ā it'sĀ a process of ā€˜making things right’ in your relationships -- with others, ancestors, the earth, yourself.

We are all focusing on completing karmic contracts in this incarnation and I know you are aware of many ways you are asked to do this. This is why we are even here in the immersion isn’t it!!! Pulling out our pain, hurt, rejection, anger, judgment etc etc and realigning the concept that no one actually has the ability to do anything to us!!

Wow – check the accountability out in that statement.

Well, this prayer is one super powerful way of diving deep into the connection that we have somehow generationally isolated ourselves from…

The prayer is a Hawaiian family ritual and focuses on working through problems together, openly expressing feelings, and releasing each other. It’s the act and intention of holding a space for reflection, repentance, forgiveness, and gratitude.

Special words are exchanged, emotions are revealed, and forgiveness flows both ways. A ceremonial feast might follow, symbolising the release.

The philosophy behind this practice is that we’re each responsible for what shows up in our reality. We own our feelings and our experiences. So even if someone else has wronged us, we're the ones saying "I am sorry. Forgive me..."

The foundation of this practice is unity: an unbreakable bond connects youĀ to everyone else, even though we seem so separate.

When errors are corrected externally, errors are corrected internally. When you ā€œcleanseā€ your consciousness, you contribute to the cleansing of the ā€œcollective consciousness.ā€ When you forgive others, you, too, are forgiven because...

Loving each other and loving yourselfĀ is kind of the same thing.

When you focus on healing the past, you help heal your lifeĀ right here, right now.Ā When youĀ right any wrongs in your thinking, you adjust and amend problems in the physical realm.

As above, so below.

The practice of Ho’oponopono helps you understand and heal the experiences in your life that you’ve ā€œattractedā€ or participated in, or have been affected by.

The Ho’oponopono Prayer

There are four forces at work in this prayer: repentance, forgiveness, gratitude, and love. These are reflected in the four phrases that make up the prayer.

The phrases, which you can repeat in any order, silently to yourself or out loud, are:

1. I am sorry.

2. (Please) Forgive me.

3. Thank you.

4. I love you.

It’s natural toĀ resist this practice at first, especially if you've got a lot of healing to do. I was!

After a few times, it gets easier.

You mightĀ feel better right away, or feel your evolution like a slow melt into love.

This prayer has a lot of power in it.

So, from today, consciously practice the prayer daily and see who comes up, or you can practice the prayer on someone or with someone specifically…

Journal prompts

There will naturally be some biggitity/up a gum tree triggers that will come up…

Never fear – Martine here with some more journal prompts:

  • ā€œWhat am I sorry for?ā€

  • ā€œWhere do I still needĀ forgiveness?"

  • "Where am I still seeking forgiveness?"

  • ā€œWhat am I thankful for?ā€

  • ā€œDo I really feel loved?ā€ ā€œWhy am I worthy of love?ā€ ā€œWhere do I want to feel more

love?ā€
